Pei Lin excused himself for missing their anniversary due to a contract, yet Lu Niaoniao accidentally caught Lu Shengsheng leaning in his arms. Reluctantly agreeing to the divorce, she made her father sign a will forbidding Lu Shengsheng from ever marrying Pei Lin.Seven years later, Lu Niaoniao’s health deteriorated severely. Pei Lin, having retired from his career, was about to take over the conglomerate—just as Lu Shengsheng announced their engagement. Overwhelmed by grief, Lu Niaoniao coughed up blood and told her daughter Manman to find her grandfather. She passed away shortly after.
