Breaking the Tragic Plot

A retired old man transmigrates into a tragic romance novel, becoming Li Chengyan, a doomed supporting character fated to end up alone. Refusing to follow the plot, he stops pestering the young heroine Xu Zhiyi and falls for Su Haiyan, her gentle, mature mother. Faced with obstruction from the original male lead Xie Jingcheng, Xu Zhiyi’s confusion and worldly judgment, Li Chengyan holds fast to his love.
